Hooks

Keep your Signia hearing aid secure with precision hooks

Signia ear hooks are retention attachments that clip over the earmold or housing of behind-the-ear (BTE) and slim-tube hearing aids. They loop discreetly behind the ear’s ridge to anchor the device, preventing it from slipping – even during movement, exercise, or warm conditions.

When and how to use these hooks

If you use Signia models like Pure, Styletto, Insio, or Motion, hooks offer dependable support without interfering with your acoustic performance. By fitting a hook that matches your hearing aid’s wire or tube, you gain extra security in humid climates or during long wearing hours.

How to:

  • Slide the hook over the tubing or wire at the fitting point
  • Position the curve comfortably behind your ear ridge
  • Ensure the hook does not press against your skin or cause redness

If the hook becomes stiff, discolored, or starts to crack, replace it promptly to maintain comfort and retention.

Why these hooks make a difference

When you suffer from seasonal heat, perspiration, or mild movement, hearing aids can loosen slightly – hooks help prevent that drift. Because the hook supports the tubing externally, your sound path remains unaffected and feedback risk doesn’t increase. Their curved shape encourages a natural sloping line around your ear, and in most cases you won’t feel their presence. The hook also helps block ingress of moisture, sweat and dirt at the junction between the wire and the earmold, preserving the internal components and prolonging device reliability.
